This month I am leading a company of beautiful artists as the character Guilherme in an industry reading for the upcoming show: Brasil – A New Musical. The project will be presented at the Dramatist Guild Fund performance space in association with MWG Productions. With a book by Juliana Pedroso and music and lyrics by Matt Gurren and Nanny Assis,
Brasil is “set in the exotic world of Brazil’s favelas (slums). This heartfelt musical drama is about love, friendship and community surviving in the face of corruption, poverty and police brutality. Guilherme, a wealthy kid from Leblon, goes to live with a poor family in one of Rio’s most dangerous favelas. The show is enriched with an original, Brazilian-American fusion score.”
