Theatre: Developing New Play on “Sanity”

This week I was selected to work alongside creative artists Jillian Carucci, Ivey Lowe, Andrew Willis-Woodward and Max Reuben as they delve into questions on sanity for a 2016 Mabou Mines Residency.

Throughout an afternoon playing with these artists we discovered some fascinating truths (and lies) of what story we could tell simply by being in a space and letting our environment speak on its own.

We used a devised work method straight from Tectonic Theater Project’s “moment work” technique.  This removes the actors ego, and instead throws focus on the environment and story.
